This Week in Celebrity Fashion, Part I: Darkness Falls

22 02 2015

Why don’t we see more purple red carpet looks, it’s a color that looks good on everyone.  Olivia’s dress looks safe but it’s actually a whole lot of sequins masking a whole lot of sheer.

What I love about Michelle on the red carpet is that she’s always surprising.  This dramatic lace looks has a lot of sleeve action that’s echoed in the layers at the bottom.

We rarely see Kerri in black and it’s a good change.  This looks sleek and sophisticated, especially the bunched up sheer sleeves.

This is one of Kim’s best looks in a long time.  Lots of dramatic cleavage balanced by a very simple but glam look.

Julianne looks so giddy pre-Oscars.  I’m not sure about the dark green sequined top but the mini & bag combo are a fun green.

J. Lo is killing it, head to toe.  Love the mini, the boots are insane and the fur just sends it over the top.

2nd Annual unite4:humanity Presented By ALCATEL ONETOUCH - Arrivals

I’m not a fan of Ms. Berry’s longer do’s but she looks cute in this asymmetrical dress.

Rooney, would it kill you to crack a smile or is your top supposed to be the laugh?

Emma has been on a red carpet tear lately, getting me really excited for her Oscars look.  If it’s anything like this perfect LBD with saucy cutouts and awesome shoulders, it might the best look of the night.

Another gorgeous look, that’s mature without being dull.

This dress made me smile and the bright heels add to the fun.

The 8th Annual ESSENCE Black Women In Hollywood Luncheon

Carmen’s curls are adorable and I love the different elements of this dress, which compliment each other.

Queen B delivers one of her classic looks that’s barely there yet still classically Beyonce.

BVLGARI And Save The Children STOP. THINK. GIVE. Pre-Oscar Event - Arrivals

Camilla’s midnight blue has a lot of interesting elements including the asymmetrical hemline, down to there V and dark design at the center.

Black and yellow is a fun pairing and I’m liking the bright birds on Blake’s skirt.  Less awesome are her roots.

Miley Cyrus, it’s nice to see you go for grown up sexy instead of teen rebellion raunchy.

I can’t wait to see how Mad Men wraps up for Joan, but meanwhile Christina goes for dramatic sleeves and a sleek look that Roger would approve of.

Sanremo 2015 - Closing Night

Margot’s dress is a little risque, from the low cut sides to the sheer.  But the velvet adds warmth and elegance.
