This Week in Celebrity Fashion, Part I: Springing into Black

7 05 2017

Chloe’s dress seems to have an uneven distribution of fabric and looks to be held up by sheer willpower.

This sweet capelet livens up Demi’s LBD.

This deconstructed dress is a different look for Emily but the thigh boots are a bit much.

Felicity’s making sweet traditional gowns her specialty.

Damn Halle!  This sexy sheer jumpsuit reveals way more than it covers.

J. Lo’s post-Met Ball look is straight up diva.

Kerry’s look has a 70’s disco vibe.

This dress is a cute optical illusion.

Cute black take o summer but it’s Sofia’s beachy waves that I’m focused on.

Zoe’s dress is a golden spider’s web.

This Week in Celebrity Fashion, Part I: Black & White & Wow

23 04 2017

Three megastars in one spot – we haven’t seen Kate in ages and she looks great.  Pene is chic in sheer and Julia continues her menswear/shorts theme.  Fantastic hair from this trio.

There’s more sheer here than actual coverage.  Jenna’s weaving a spider’s web of sexy.

So many trends here – one shoulder, cropped, choker, ombre hair – it’s a little too much all together.  My favorite part are the yellow heels.

This looks like a sweater just decided to collapse spontaneously.

This is a interesting pairing of high/low.

Loving Claire’s hair and 40’s vibe.

J.Hud’s deconstructed lace is giving me Madonna 80’s feels.

This Week in Celebrity Fashion, Part II: All the Colors

6 11 2016

Zoe’s Gucci gown shouldn’t made her fee so glum.

2016 LACMA Art + Film Gala

I like the addition of the tiger on this classic slinky gown.

I never feel that these type of overly girly gowns do Nicole justice.

Harper's Bazaar Women of the Year Awards, London, UK - 31 Oct 2016

Great color on Keira but that severe hairstyle isn’t working for me.

The Duchess of Cambridge attends The World Premiere of "A Street Cat Named Bob"

Looks like Kate’s getting bolder.

Celebrities sttend the BAFTA Britannia Awards in Los Angeles

This nude look is perfectly draped.

River Fund's Silver Anniversary Gala, 583 Park Ave, New York, USA - 03 Nov 2016

This looks like a Keith Haring come to life.

Something about Demi’s look reminds me of Alice in Wonderland.

There’s a whole 70’s ingenue thing happening here and I like it.

This Week in Celebrity Fashion, Part I: Spring Bouquets

8 05 2016

Not sure how the coat fits with the season but I’m loving both Demi’s happy floral and the adorable heels.

Burberry Celebrates: Its Newest Collections at the Burberry SoHo Store

This patterned raincoat makes the weather more than bearable.

A Met throwback, Naomie’s gown is plenty dramatic and the diamond necklace is a scenestealer.

The flowers a little oversize but Elizabeth pulls it out.

SAG Awards ’16: The Classics

31 01 2016

Loving this seemingly sedate look that’s actually sheer (over nude).  No one puts Demi out to pasture.

Everything about this look makes me forgive Rachel for the travesty of True Detective 2.  And the back view is just as great.

Queen Latifah

All hail the Queen, shining & bright.

22nd Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Red Carpet

The Mara sisters decided to double up on cleavage and nearly identical dresses.

Kristen Wiig

One of things I like about Kristen is that she’s definitely a “marches to her own drummer” type of girl.  A jumpsuit?  Why not?

Julianna Margulies

What I like about this dress is the structured bodice and embroidery.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus

The length is odd and the style a bit too retro but I love the clutch.

Jessica Pare

Jessica’s gown is good coming and just as special going.

Anna Faris

Head to toe, this is my favorite look of the night.  It’s wonderful color on Anna, and while it’s dramatic and elegant, there’s still plenty of sexiness in the front…and the back.

This Week in Celebrity Fashion, Part III: The New Classics

8 11 2015

I like this look for Taraji so much – the hair makes her look younger and the dress is bold and fun.

This might be too revealing to even count as lingerie but of course, Rosie looks amazing in it.  The thigh highs add that extra element of sexy that wasn’t actually missing.

Loving this nude macrame on Naomie.

Not really sure about Julianne pulling off this wedding cake of a dress.  It’s a little young and fussy.

jlaw 2

This sheer dress with its fun florals is killing it, Hunger Games style.

So much fabric in the skirt, so little fabric in the top.

Helen is perfectly classic, as always.

halle 2

If you ever need a dress that could work as a parachute, Halle’s got you covered.

I love the slightly complex glam of this look – the top with its unexpected length and the squares on the netting.

This look feels almost too beachy for an event but as usual Demi pulls it off.

Loving everything about this for Dakota – from the sheer to the colors.

Sometimes, a dress can be nothing special but on the right person it works perfectly.

A very easy old Hollywood glam for Amber.

Amanda’s dress has a space-y vibe.

This Week in Celebrity Fashion, Part III: Moore Surprises

23 11 2014

Julianne’s leather dress is odd and pretty artistic.  I’m not sure I like it but she’s making it work.

What makes Demi’s dress interesting is the unexpected patches of sheer throughout the fabric, sexing up an otherwise conservative look.
