This Week in Celebrity Fashion, Part II: Sheer Black Magic

15 04 2017

Very unusual sheer look with avant garde details.  My favorite part is the extra long sleeves and extra pant legs.

This dress is so light and springy that you feel like it’s begging for a garden party to go to.

A simple dress made special with lovely lacy details.

This Week in Celebrity Fashion, Part II: Black is Black

18 09 2016

I’m very over these type of gowns but I think Kate’s pulling it off beautifully – great eye makeup too.

This is a lovely dress but it ages Julianne about 10 years.

Even when her dress is kind of blah, Jennifer’s hair is always stealing the show.

Not feeling this 1940’s look, even with the glam.

Elisabeth is killing it in this fierce mini and out of control heels while Naomi is channeling a more boho vibe.

KENZO Presents 'The Realest Real' A Film by Carrie Brownstein

Chloe is slaying in a very fierce ensemble that manages to have fur & sheer and still not feel overwhelming.

I like that Suki goes for more modest looks as she makes her way into film.  Loving the makeup too.

The exact type of look we’ve come to expect from Rooney, down to the uncomfortable facial expression.

Universal Pictures and Working Title Films Present the American Premiere of "Bridget Jones's Baby"

My favorite look of her whole press tour.

The screening of NBC 'This Is Us'

Ladies, when you’re feeling that there’s nothing left to wear, take a lesson from Mandy – find something black, white & red and they will without a doubt look amazing together.

This Week in Celebrity Fashion, Part V: Light up the Dark

15 05 2016

Jada’s look is so sexy & sassy, it’s like she’s ready to dance in Carnival.

Photo Call For STX Entertainment's "Free State Of Jones"

A sweet look that’s picture perfect.

You’d think the sheer panels, bell sleeves and white detail paired with a deeeep V would get ridiculous but Paz seems to pull it off.

'Cafe Society' premiere and opening ceremony, 69th Cannes Film Festival, France - 11 May 2016

Strategic pockets keep this blouse legal along with a dramatic skirt.

Operation Smile Gala

Someone’s really embracing the deep V lately.

Hello summer!  That shoulder flounce is feeling the season.

'Cafe Society' premiere and opening ceremony, 69th Cannes Film Festival, France - 11 May 2016

I’m loving the drama of Julianna’e gown, with its interplay of sheer and shine.

Not quite sure about this upscale cowgirl vibe.

Julia’s never been to Cannes before and she goes for classic Pretty Woman in a simple gown with a major piece of jewelry.

Punky hi/lo is a fun look for JLaw.

Jazz At Lincoln Center 2016 Gala

A modern flapper with disco heels.

This Week in Celebrity Fashion, Part IV: White Out

15 05 2016

"The Shallows" Photocall - The 69th Annual Cannes Film Festival

A little caped coverage with a mini creates an interesting look but it’s the B&W heels that hold my attention.

This summer frock would be great for every girl.

Julianne rips it up in this optical illusion gown that’s built for a breeze.

X Men Apocalypse Screening

I love an open back, makes for a great exit.

What I love about this look:

  1. the lace paired with a structured dress.
  2. the combo of black and white
  3. the heels
  4. the dark nail polish

This Week in Celebrity Fashion, Part II: Dark Blooms

"Manus x Machina: Fashion In An Age Of Technology" Costume Institute Gala - Arrivals

This was one of my fave Met Ball looks.  While everyone else went classic, Zoe is always the rulebreaker with this beyond gorgeous confection of a mini.  The heels and mask are just bonus.

I guess even Kate wants to take a break from being super sexy all the time with a more relaxed look.

Kate Beckinsale at Love & Friendship Premiere in LA

I always complain that Kate looks the same at every event and then she tries new hair and I regret it.

Montblanc And The Cinema Society With Mastro Dobel & Kim Crawford Wines Host A Screening Of Sony Pictures Classics' Maggie's Plan - Arrivals

Loving this 20’s dress paired with adorable booties.  Wish the jacket wasn’t in the way.

JLaw’s going for girly with this sweet dress and very platinum hair.

I’m all for being comfortable with this pairing of a ultra modern mini with booties is a little too GI Jane for me.

Oscars ’16: That Old Black Magic

28 02 2016

88th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

Amy’s gown is on two trends – cape-y arms & embroidery.  She looks pretty but this much dress would work better on a taller lady.

88th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

If you’re going to go for so much black, even with a sheen, a little more jewelry would have been great, especially a statement necklace.

88th Annual Academy Awards, Arrivals, Los Angeles, America - 28 Feb 2016

Julianne broke with her red carpet Tom Ford tradition for a Chanel look that’s understated and elegant.  Love the detail on the skirt.

88th Annual Academy Awards, Arrivals, Los Angeles, America - 28 Feb 2016

Simple but significant to quote Don Draper.  Nude+lace=yes.

88th Annual Academy Awards, Arrivals, Los Angeles, America - 28 Feb 2016

First you stick it to your ex with a Vanity Fair cover and then you show up looking major glam at the Oscars.  Jennifer has never been a red carpet risk taker but this gown has drama (like her interview).

This Week in Celebrity Fashion, Part II: Keeping it Neutral

21 02 2016

Basic black with fun flounces and swiss dot sweetness.

An interesting take on boss wear.  Loving all the grey with wide legged pants but it’s the unexpected bandeau that sets this apart.

How do you show that you rule the red carpet?  By turning up in a fancy sweatshirt & a sequined take on sweats.  That’s high/low.

If not for the clutch & heels, I’d think Jessica’s on her way to Coachella.

Yes to the geometry & asymmetry of this sparkly dress.

Michael Kors Fall 2016 Runway Show - Backstage

This look is a combination of “ladies who lunch” with Sophia Loren on a yacht.
